Information for Advanced Practicum Applicants and Future Postdoctoral Fellows

Chicago Anxiety Counseling, Supervision and Consultation INC is a group practice on the border of Buena Park and Lakeview, Chicago, established in the end of 2023, with the goal of growing into a large training program that supports students and graduates in their journeys toward independent professional careers.

We offer our students and fellows the opportunity to provide long- and short-term individual, couples, family and group therapy with clients across the lifespan. We rely on a psychodynamic supervision framework to assist students in obtaining deep insight into client-therapist dynamics. We believe that this angle to supervision produces creative, intuitive, and wise clinicians, who are competent as well as aware of their blind spots. We hope to enhance each student’s established therapeutic skillset and provide new tools that feel congruent with their clinical identity. While this growth fosters confidence and independence, we encourage ongoing consultation and openness about the need for support and guidance.

While we are a relatively new site, we are partnered with the longstanding practice, Sejdaras Psy.D & Associates. This partnership allows for additional professional connections with psychologists and therapists with diverse professional backgrounds, as well as enriching case consultation meetings offered to our students. In addition to our investment in forming professionals’ clinical competencies, we provide mentorship and advice on career development. Our ideal student is intuitive, curious, creative, open, genuine, aware of their own uniqueness, friendly, assertive, flexible, and able to inhabit both dependent and independent modes of being. We encourage bilingual/multilingual students to apply.

Main theoretical orientation: Interest in psychodynamic work is highly encouraged. Primary supervisor Dr. Berkovich uses classical, interpersonal-relational, and bodymind psychodynamic frameworks to conceptualization and treatment.
